Croatia 2019 - Recap
There’s no doubt that Croatia is ‘on the map.’ But that does not take away from the beauty of this small country. And after 5-6 trips to Croatia, I only want to go back more and more and more.
On this adventure we started in Zagreb and made our way to Plitvice Lakes National Park for a beautiful hike, picnic lunch and then slept along the stream running through Korona Village. Then we made our way to Split, with a stop in Zadar along the way to hear the amazing sea organs. So beautiful!
Split — still to this day one of my favorite European cities, is a maze of small streets running through Diocletian’s Palace. We spent the evenings eating delicious seafood and listening to live music at the Peristyle of Diocletian’s Palace, and the days hiking, swimming at the beach, shopping and exploring. While sad to say goodbye to Split, our next stop – the Pelješac Peninsula brought its own fun and surprises. We sipped wine, drove along the sea, and ended the day eating oysters and mussels in Ston.
Dubrovnik — beautiful DUBROVNIK! Oh how I love these winding steep narrow streets (they all either lead to the sea or amazing views!) Here we enjoyed time exploring the city, took a day-trip to nearby Korčula for hiking, swimming, and kayaking, and a final lovely meal over sunset and the city.
Croatia, I can’t wait until my next return. And the one after that, and after that, and after that, etc. etc. etc. THANK YOU to the amazing women who joined for this adventure and brought all the fun, laughter, stories and good times. So much XOXOXO to you all!
Until next time, Croatia!
