My Real Life Soap Opera

I confess: when it comes to traveling with soap I’m a big wimp.

  • Hotel soap is generally pretty cheap and leaves skin dry and questionably clean.

  • Body wash doesn’t travel well and you end up using a travel size bottle with every shower.

  • If you use bar soap you are inevitably left with a slimy bar of wet soap dripping on your stuff or creating strange condensation in a plastic bag. Gross.

Here is my solve: I take a nice bar of soap from home and chop it up into various sizes. If I’m on a 2 night trip I take a small chunk. If I’m going to be gone for 5 nights I take a medium size chunk. I leave what I don’t use at the hotel, have soft and clean skin and feel good about not using a dozen small plastic bottles.

Here’s to solving one small world problem at a time. Whew!
